Let’s Play: Planetary Annihilation

In 1997, Cavedog Entertainment released a real-time strategy game that would go on to win many accolades and become critically acclaimed in the video game world. That game, Total Annihilation, is undoubtedly still being played by many fans all around the world as no true sequel was ever made.

Thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign, Jon Mavor, the Lead Engine Designer of Total Annihilation, is back with another game in the Total Annihilation vein, this time called Planetary Annihilation, and now that it’s made its way to Steam’s Early Access program, it’s time to take a look at it and see if all the hype was worth it.

I’ll leave you to make the call as to whether Planetary Annihilation is a game that’s up your alley. There’s no doubt to me though, that if you’re better at RTS games than I clearly am, then Planetary Annihilation should at least be a game that’s on your radar, even if you do wait for its full release instead of getting it on Early Access.
