Let’s Play: KingsRoad

by on February 3, 2014

There was a time when the idea of a video game played inside of a browser was just a pipe-dream, especially games that we would want to play, with decent gameplay, graphics and the rest. However, that’s before companies such as Rumble Games started to develop games with the sole intention of being able to play them right inside our favourite windows into the internet.

The Action-RPG genre is one of my favourite styles of game to play on the PC, the dungeon exploration and the smashing of just about everything in existence is not only cathartic, but enjoyable. With that in mind, you can imagine my excitement to have the opportunity to not only play an Action-RPG in my browser, but one that looks and plays great, as well as one that I can log into on any computer I find myself at and continue exactly from where I left off.

That’s exactly what Rumble Games’ KingsRoad offers the player, and that’s what we’ve had the opportunity to play recently. You can see the game for yourself in the video below, and come to your own conclusions as to whether the browser game is something that you should be keeping an eye on.

KingsRoad is currently in open beta and can be played through Facebook, with all of the interconnectivity that comes with that, or on its own without asking the player to bother their friends every time they do the smallest little thing.

Let us know what you think about KingsRoad, whether you’re interested in playing it, or just what you think about browser games in general, in the comments below.
