Sacred 3 Releasing This Summer

by on February 19, 2014

Sacred 3, which takes players back to the fantasy realms of Ancaria, will be released for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC this summer.

The game is the latest in the line of Sacred hack and slash games, returning to the more lavish production of Sacred 2: Fallen Angel (released way back in 2008) as opposed to more recent, slightly disappointing spin-off, Sacred Citadel.

Sacred 3 will feature drop in, drop out cooperative multiplayer for both offline (2 players) and online (4 players) play.

“The paramount development goal for Sacred 3 has been to create a seamless online and offline co-op experience”, said Remy van Leeuwen, Brand Manager of Deep Silver. “By creating a game built around the central concept of co-op gameplay, we’re expanding the series to new audiences without compromising the rich lore and fantasy of the Sacred universe.”

With titles like Diablo doing well on consoles, it’s good to see the loot-based hack and slash genre doing well on consoles. Here’s hoping Deep Silver are on to a winner…
