Google Buys Twitch, Continues Ascent to World Domination

Because they’re not big enough already, Google have bought video-game livestreaming site Twitch in a deal worth $1 billion.

While Google and Twitch are yet to make an announcement, sources close to the deal confirmed to VentureBeat that it was going ahead, with Twitch investors happy that they will be getting significant returns.

It highlights the rise in popularity of game streaming and gaming as a spectator sport.
