New Alone In The Dark: Illumination Trailer

by on November 3, 2014

Alone in the Dark: Illumination – the sixth title in the long-running survival horror series – was only first officially announced back in August, but already the game is being readied for a retail release before the end of the year. No exact release date has yet been nailed down, but Atari have said that the game will be out in time for the Holidays.

The game marks a couple of landmark firsts for the series – it is the first Alone in the Dark game to feature online play, and also the first time that co-operative gameplay will form part of the experience. Up to four players will be able to team-up to use the Power of Illumination in order to defeat their foes.

There will be four distinct player classes; The Hunter comes who makes use of powerful firearms, the Witch – who has the gift of supernatural powers, the Priest who has divine powers, and the Engineer who can craft mechanical weapons and defences. We can see some of these different abilities in the new trailer that has been released today.
