Kill ’em Up score-a-thon Hotline Miami 2 has been refused classification in Australia by their ratings board. This means the game cannot be sold or distributed unless the offending scenes in the game are cut, this is despite Australia’s recent adoption of an R18 certificate on Videogames.

The game has been classified as RC, the description of which is below:

IGN’s Mitch Dyer has cited it as one of the most violent games he has ever played, even calling it ‘gross’, ‘uncomfortable’ and ‘twisted’.

Possibly a touch heavy handed, but maybe you ahould have a read of an excerpt of the report that Kotaku AU managed to get their hands on and decide for yourselves.
