The new LCS season is also bringing in some slight format changes. Again LoLeSports.com have a much more detailed run down but the basic points are:

  • Teams who place in 8th and 9th in LCS will play against the teams who places 2nd and 3rd in the challenger series to determine who is in the LCS and who is in the challenger series for the next season.
  • LCS teams will gain points based on their performance in the playoffs. These points will be used to determine seeding for Worlds and Regional Qualifiers.
  • The winner of the Summer Split and the team with the most points will both qualify for Worlds.
