We Have Our Final Two Teams in the Dota Asia Championships

by on February 8, 2015

The penultimate day of the frankly brilliant Dota Asia Championships has come to a close, and we know who will be in tomorrows best of five final.

Event spoilers below.

The first of the three BO3 series today saw ViCi easily dispatch EG in the winners bracket final to book their place in the grand finals. After that Team Secret eventually dispatched Big God 2-1 in a series that featured two 50+ minute games. The loss gave Big God 4th place overall along with $211,705.

Moving on Secret then faced rivals EG for the last spot in the grand final. Many predicted this would be one of the best series of the tournament with both teams looking incredibly strong. However the end result was somewhat anticlimactic as EG dispatched Secret 2-0 (with a surprise Tinker pick in the first game). As a Secret fan it is disappointing not to see the team in the final after their incredible group stage run, however I’m sure they wont be too disappointed with $272,192 and 3rd place.

Tomorrow will see the grand final between ViCi and EG take place at 6am UK time. There is a lot on the line as 2nd place will take home $362,922 but the winners will not only get the awesome DAC trophy but also $1,270,227. That makes the grand final a $900,000+ match, if that isn’t worth watching then I don’t know what is!
