Apple has announced that Apple Pay is coming to the UK next month, with over 250,000 locations accepting it as a payment method at launch.

All you’ll need to do is hold your iPhone over a contactless reader while keeping your finger on the Touch ID, assuring security, and you can also use a new iWatch if you have one. HSBC, NatWest, Nationwide Building Society, Royal Bank of Scotland, Santander and Ulster Bank will be supported at launch, with others, including Bank of Scotland, Coutts, Halifax, Lloyds Bank, MBNA, M&S Bank and TSB Bank, coming later.

As well as Apple stores, you can use Apple pay at Boots UK, BP, Costa Coffee, Dune, JD Sports, KFC UK & Ireland, Liberty, LIDL, Marks & Spencer (M&S), McDonald’s UK, Nando’s, New Look, Post Office, Pret A Manger, SPAR, Starbucks, SUBWAY stores, Wagamama and Waitrose, alongsideTransport for London.
