EarthBound Beginnings Coming Today on Wii U Virtual Console

Nintendo just dropped a bombshell on their World Championships 2015 livestream, announcing that EarthBound Beginnings will be available today as a Wii U Virtual Console download.

EarthBound Beginnings was never released in the West, only released in Japan under the name Mother on the Famicom. It has been fully localised and will be the first time the game has made it to market in the States. The game was scheduled for localisation into the English language for a North American release as EarthBound, but was abandoned when the team chose to localise Mother 2 (EarthBound) instead.
