What to Watch on Day Two of TI5

by on July 28, 2015

Day one was crazy. There was tons of 60+ minute games, most of which featured C9, along with some incredible plays and the absolutely brilliant analyst panel. But that’s all in the past and the VODs are available, so we look ahead to day two and the series you should be watching.

Round 1 – Cloud 9 vs Fnatic, IG vs LGD, NaVi vs Complexity

Two stand out matchups here in the form of C9 vs Fnatic and IG vs LGD. Prior to yesterday I would have picked the latter but with C9’s performances yesterday and Fnatic’s marathon (the 2nd longest game at TI ever) against IG then this becomes must watch, even if it probably will go on for about five hours.

Round 2 – Cloud9 vs Secret, MVP.Phoenix vs LGD, IG vs Complexity

Cloud 9 are certainly the team to watch today, although they have been dealt a very difficult day two. The matchup against secret sees n0tail fight up against his former squad as the two teams who are expected to go top eight fight it out. This could be a whitewash or it could be incredibly close.

Round 3 – Secret vs NaVi, Fnatic vs MVP.Phoenix, CDEC vs Virtus.Pro

May as well just keep the main stream on all night at this rate as Secret vs NaVi is the game to watch. Here Puppey and Kuro will be up against their former teammates as the favourites Secret go up against three time finalists NaVi. This could feature fireworks.

Round 4 – EG vs ViCi, Ehome vs NewBee, Empire vs VP

While to many the standout game will be EG vs ViCi (both teams expected to place top 4) I personally think the more entertaining match will be between the two CIS teams in the form of Empire vs VP. VP have brought in some new strats (read Tree and Shadow Shaman) and Empire should be looking to bounce back after a disappointing day one. Both matches will be entertaining, so really the choice is yours.

Round 5 – EG vs MVP. Hot6, Ehome vs ViCi, Empire vs CDEC

With EG’s day one performances their match against MVP could be the closest but the one to watch is Ehome vs ViCi. The battle of the two chinese teams is sure to be entertaining although should be a relatively simple win for ViCi.
