Super Mario Maker Sells Over 1 Million Copies Worldwide

by on September 30, 2015

Nintendo has revealed today that the magnificent Super Mario Maker for the Wii U has sold over 1 million copies worldwide, making it the 32nd Super Mario game to do so. That’s-a-some great news!

Over 2.2 million courses have been created by you and in total have been played a whopping 75 million times. It’s really nice to see that Mario and friends can still engage with gamers all over the world. It’s pretty evident by these figures that the little Italian plumber will be around for a long time, and that warms our hearts at God is a Geek; after all, we gave it a well-deserved 9.5 in our review.

Using the touch screen on the Wii U controller, you can build your own unique levels to play through and upload for millions of other gamers the world over to experience. You’ll be able to create levels from four different Mario styles using pipes, Bowsers, mushrooms and blocks in any way you want. The only way to let you know how fantastic the game truly is is by showing you. Watch our very own Adam and Colm play Super Mario Maker below and then go and by it because it’s brilliant!
