by on October 29, 2015

The sequel to RPG cult-hit NIER has been officially titled Nier: Atomata, following its original unveiling at E3 2015. To celebrate, a new trailer has been released by Square Enix.

The trailer was unveiled during an exclusive stage presentation at the Square Enix booth at Paris Games Week, with producer Yosuke Saito and director Yoko Taro showing off the first look at gameplay.

When talking about the decision to make a follow-up to the original NIER, Saito said: “NIER struck a chord with many passionate gamers. It was something so special that we felt compelled to heed the fans’ call for a follow-up. To create the ultimate action-RPG, it dawned on me that a collaboration between PlatinumGames and SQUARE ENIX would be a dream come true.”

Take a look at the trailer above. NieR: Automata is being developed exclusively for PlayStation 4. There is no information about release dates available at this time.
