UPDATED: A System Shock 3 Teaser Website Has Appeared

by on December 14, 2015

UPDATE (Dec 14): The teaser website for System Shock 3 that a week ago only showed text and no more has been updated with a new image of SHODAN, the villainess of the series as well as a voice clip with her saying “Did you think I’d forget about you insect?”. Eurogamer have noted that the survey that users interested in the game must fill out asks how interested players are in virtual reality, perhaps hinting at the game being compatible with one of the upcoming VR headsets. Check out the updated website here.

ORIGINAL STORY (Dec 8): A website appearing to tease the development of System Shock 3 has cropped up online, showing nothing more than a flickering logo and a newsletter sign-up link.

The website appears to have been set up by Otherside Entertainment, the team currently working on the third instalment of the Underworld franchise who also had a hand to play in the development of the cult classic System Shock 2. VG24/7 speculates that the game will most likely be crowdfunded.

The teaser comes after news of Night Dive Studios remastering System Shock entirely, with updated textures and design while maintaining the artistic integrity of the original game. Night Dive Studios acquired the rights to System Shock after Looking Glass Studios, the series original creators, had to relinquish them during foreclosure.

We’ll keep you posted on any developments.
