EA ditch E3 2016, announce their own Play event for Los Angeles and London

by on January 27, 2016

EA have announced that they won’t have a booth at this year’s E3, instead opting to host their own event in Los Angeles and London called EA Play.

Gematsu report that EA Play 2016 will take place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles between June 12 and 14, and in London at The Mermaid on June 12. The publisher will still host its annual press conference but will deviate from it’s original time slot: it will be held on Sunday, June 12 at 1pm PT / 9pm GMT instead of it’s regular Monday before E3. This year’s E3 runs from June 14 to 16 at the Los Angeles Convention Centre, right next door to the Nokia Theatre.

“Our players are the driving force behind everything we do,” Electronic Arts said in a statement. “So this summer, we’re opening up our world to you with unique new live events in Los Angeles and London. We’ll bring the new games, we’ll bring the demos, we’ll bring the competition…and you get to go hands-on. Or join us online and immerse yourself to experience some of our biggest games of the year. Let’s live to play together.”
