Paragon’s early access starts on March 18

by on March 3, 2016

Paragon, the third person shooter cross MOBA from Epic Games, will launch into early access on March 18, with pre sales kicking off on March 14.

Anyone wanting to get in on the 18th will need to purchase a Founders Pack for $19.99 (UK pricing is yet to be revealed). The pack offers access to the game along with some skins and boosts. Anyone who wants a bit more can throw down $59.99 or $99.99 for extra cosmetics and a invite for a friend, (full details are yet to be confirmed).

In the same announcement the team also confirmed that only cosmetic items will be available for purchase once the game launches, all heroes will be free. They also revealed that accounts will not be wiped after March 18.

Steve Superville, Creative Director on Paragon had this to say.

“Paragon is designed so that all players can compete and win without ever having to spend money. All Heroes are free, and cards can only be earned by playing the game. The game will never be pay-to-win, meaning we will never sell gameplay-affecting items. We will sell cosmetic items (skins, emotes), boosts and other convenience items, along with Paid Early Access. We’re taking this approach because we believe that competitive games need to be fair for all players.”

If you want to try Paragon but don’t want to pay for the privilege an open beta will take place this summer.
