The Nintendo Switch might use USB-C charging going by a retailer listing

by on December 5, 2016

An Australian retailer listed some accessories for Nintendo Switch hinting at a USB C charging system.

Nintendo devices always have some form of proprietary charging but a listing on EB Games in Australia hints at USB-C charging. The listing specifies the following:

USB-A to USB-C Charging Cable compatible with the Nintendo Switch Console.

This is good news as Google already moved to USB-C for its phones like the Pixel and Pixel XL. Once USB-C is more widespread, maybe people won’t have to carry around different adapters. Apple even embraced USB-C for its new MacBook Pros.

Nintendo Switch is set to launch in March with an event planned in January revealing details but retailer listings have already started the information dripfeed for Nintendo Switch.

Thanks, Nintendoeverything
