Rocket League celebrates its second birthday with cars, music, more…

by on June 6, 2017

Rocket League turns two this year, and it’s updating its feature set with a whole bunch of goodies to earn.

It’s hard to believe that its nearly been two years since the game exploded onto PS4s via PlayStation Plus and blew us away with its take on vehicular ball sports, now, on July 7 Psyonix will be releasing a big content update with a whole bunch of new stuff that will either be free, or dropped from play rewards.

This anniversary update will bring us new customisation options like engine sounds, goal explosions and trails. There’ll be two new cars that will be available through drops in the game’s new Overdrive crate system, and the game will be outfitted with Rocket League Radio which will bring eighteen new music tracks to the game. Lastly we’ll see a new Champions Field stadium, which can be seen in the screens below.

More traditionally the update will bring an end to the game’s Competitive season 4 and usher in Competitive season 5, Rocket League sees a community of 31 million players competing regularly, I don’t think Psyonix even nearly imagined that before the games release in 2015. It’s been a hell of a journey and it doesn’t look like it’ll be slowing down any time soon.
