Deep Silver and Ys Net singed a global publishing deal for Shenmue III.

Shenmue III was announced at Sony’s E3 briefing a few years ago as a Kickstarter project. If you aren’t familiar with Shenmue, read Chris’ thoughts on it here. The Kickstarter for Shenmue III was super successful. It was unfortunately delayed until 2018. Today Deep Silver has partnered with Ys Net for a global publishing deal. This will cover physical and digital releases on both PS4 and PC. Dr Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Koch/ Deep Silver commented on the deal:

“Shenmue is one of a few game franchises that have historical value whilst continuing to ignite passion across gamers. We are delighted to have signed this publishing partnership and look forward to utilizing our global publishing network to maximize the potential of this highly anticipated game.”

Yu Suzuki of Ys Net also commented:

“I am very pleased to secure this global partnership with Deep Silver, which is comprised of incredible men and women who have a deep passion for bringing Japanese titles to the rest of the world. Throughout this process, Deep Silver has expressed a deep passion for Japanese games, the Shenmue franchise and its fans—this gives me further confidence in Shenmue III and that we have found the best partner possible.”

There will be two meet and greet sessions in the public area of Gamescom at stand B011/C010 with Yu Suzuki.

Shenmue III is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4 and PC in the second half of 2018.
