2064: Read Only Memories gets a surprise launch on Vita, free for PS4 owners

MidBoss does a surprise release of the PS Vita version of 2064: Read Only Memories.

This game has been quite the rollercoaster ride for Vita owners. After originally being announced for the Vita, it was cancelled, then announced again, then cancelled, and now it is actually available. It is free for PS4 owners through cross buy. This means if you own it on PS4, you get the Vita version free. Watch the PS4 launch trailer below:

Man, this release has been a labor of love. We always envisioned 2064: Read Only Memories on the PS Vita because it’s such a perfect fit for that platform, but we ran into numerous challenges in the development process in getting the game to perform exactly the way we wanted. We were determined, though, and through the will of our community and the doggedness of our engineering team, we tackled a steep learning curve and made it work. We’re so proud of the result. This platform is exactly how we always wanted our game to be experienced. Thank you for your patience!

2064: Read Only Memories is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC platforms. Read my review of the PS4 version here.

As of this writing the Vita version is up only in North American regions on PSN. It should be up in Europe soon.
