Stardew Valley 1.3 detailed, multiplayer beta begins now

Stardew Valley 1.3 includes multiplayer and some single player enhancements.

The long awaited Stardew Valley multiplayer beta is here. Before you get excited, please backup your save files if you do plan on entering and make sure to disable any mods. Full mod support in this is being worked on. To access the multiplayer beta do the following:

In your Games Library, right click on Stardew Valley

Select Properties → Betas (see: https://imgur.com/a/H1gH4)

Enter the Beta access code “jumpingjunimos” and press Check Code

After this, select the beta branch option on the Beta selection drop down list above

Windows:

Linux and macOS:

The multiplayer features of 1.3 are below:

4 Player Farming – Invite 1-3 players to join you as ‘farmhands’ via Steam and/or LAN, either starting from a new game, or diving in from your latest single player save

Work Together – Each player lives in their own cabin on the host farm as you work together to achieve common goals such as farming, mining, fighting, fishing, foraging and festival participation

Scalable Difficulty – As more hands are better than one, players will be able to scale profit margin of produce sold to change the difficulty level of a multiplayer farm

Multiplayer Marriage – Farmhands can choose to woo Pelican Town’s NPCs, or craft a wedding ring to propose to a fellow Player. You can also divorce or ban farmhands by demolishing their cabins

Chat box & Custom Emojis – Communicate using the new chat box feature with coloured text and nearly 200 custom Stardew Valley emojis

The new single player features are as follows:

Horse Hats – Whether its a sombrero, sailor hat or fedora, your horse can wear it

Winter Market Festival – For 3 days in Winter a travelling festival will visit Pelican Town, where farmers can come and go as they please to purchase unique items, enjoy live entertainment and more

More Collectibles – In winter, farmers may encounter a strange event which activates a new ‘secret’ type of collection, leading to new adventures and greater knowledge…

Added Character Cutscenes – You will now be able to encounter new character events, including some secret events triggered by certain conditions.

Stardew Valley is available on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. It is coming to Vita this year.
