As i suggested to manure earlier, i think we should just get all the mid-high pop realms in a hat, minus the ones we definately dont want to go to for whatever reasons, wether it be lag issues/bad rep/or just bad experiences then we pull one out of the hat....bingo!

Darkspear seems nice enough, decent population.. split almost evenly between horde and alliance. Cheap AH prices on top level items.. some spammers in trade but you get that everywhere.

The only problem I might have with it is, the name Manure is taken.. I could still get Mánure or Manuré but I think I might just drop the poo joke if I switch over.. its getting a bit old.. and it makes for some truly strange and disturbing conversations.


I will however still keep my warrior as Tinyturd.. still get a few chuckles of that name.

Hmmmmms.......both Twisted (by a lvl80 Blood Elf Mage) and Twísted (a lvl51 Tauren Druid) are taken.......does seem like a good realm though, fucking annoying! I wonder if they could be persuaded to relinquish thier name for me....

Anyone suggest any other realms? I could rename I suppose....

On a side note, Darkspear is on the Cruelty server, anyone had any experiences with it or know if its notoriously unstable??

Right, im going to actually start this thing properly, getting fucked off with the guild im currently in and am losing heart in the game at a rapid rate of knots as a result. So, im going to spend a bit of time moving my chars and getting the guild started.

2 choices of realms as I see it,

-Darkspear
-Bronzebeard

Both are normal realms with a mid-high population (Darkspear slightly higher in population at peak times) with a near 50:50 faction ratio. Both seem to be pretty social and stable, decent economy and most inportantly, are not Eonar!!!

Darkspear is on the Cruelty server and Bronzebeard, Reckoning. If either one of those two battlegroups are notorious for extended maintenance, repairs or are just laggy/buggy, please say so and it'll get discounted. Ofc, if its got a good rep in your eyes please say so!

Anyhow, I will prob set the guild up on our realm of choice in about a week (depending on response here) so any feedback/suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

I prefer Darkspear. While I have nothing against Bronzebeard, Darkspear was my first proper realm in wow, and while the alliance is generally alot of spam, the horde seems fairly first rate.

Im not too sure about that census, check out Eonar's one. Its about 95% Alliance, which i think we all know is rubbish! I tend to actually ask the locals, they say its slightly alliance heavy, and check out the win/loss ratio on the wintergrasp battles. Its not perfect i know but it gives a better indication than that census imo.

Ok well Darkspear and Doomhammer sound like good realms, do you guys wan't Darkspear for any particular reasons? I know i would prefer Doomhammer as it is my first realm and Louise is currently there but we of course put the guild ahead of personal preference.

I should also point out that some nabs wnt us on Eonar.

Eonar is a good realm, but I want a fresh start. Stating rules in the forums to the guild leader is likely to get me kicked so I don't think I want to stay on Eonar.

Darkspear was my second realm (after Nordrassil which is rather shite) and the server pop is about average, the alliance say that theres more horde, and the horde say there are more alliance. Its also got fairly cheap AH prices.

Doomhammer was Manure's second realm and my third. The only problem I had while I was there (in tbc) was the constant (and I do mean constant) [Dirge]ing in trade. Whether its better or worse now?

As a third choice Bronzebeard is also a fairly average realm, its seem abit more horde populated than alliance, but also has an average AH - some expensive items and some cheap ones.


If its a PvE realm and I can switch to it this weekend, I'm not really bothered where we go.

And tbh with my new jobs hours meaning I finish at 4pm, well.. I can at least raid most nights.

Well I am not sure how much say i have, but personally I dont care what server but getting off Eonar sounds the best option but at the same time if everyone came back to Eonar it wouldnt be so bad.

You are still saved. Xfering doesnt unlock your raid IDs, its been like this since Ensidia tried to exploit a world first by moving from Maggy to Tarren Mill. So sorry Mr Poo you will still be saved.

Aye, a couple of odd raids wouldnt go amiss, but i think its prob going to be slow going till cata is released! That being said, the sooner people transfer the sooner we can start doing things even if it means having to pug a tard or two, but with the 30% buff we shouldnt need worry about it too much. And of course there is Shama!

This is for a couple of reasons.

1) Not having the money to transfer at this moment
2) Attempting to set up a guild on Eonar with Yonna
3) Open application at “The Logical Cube” (Which coincidently I don’t think will ever be answered)

If I’m honest though of late my “GAMING” has had some impact on the missus and she is attempting to negotiate with me times for raiding etc so i am not even sure I will be able to make your raid times. I can’t really raid before 8.30 ST anymore.

So lots to consider :-) I must admit though was very very tempted to move my shadow priest you guys :-) but it needs gear.

First up, Aaron, yes Doomhammer is the final destination. In regards to the time limit, there isnt one, just before cata release would be preferable.

Wurm, realm see above, GM is currently me, thats soley because Manure and myself are the only people on the realm that knows about this guild and i happened to be online first. If Seno wishes to take leadership then so be it, BUT, as i see it this guild is going to be more about social progress (killing shit with your friends) so anyone could be GM. Personally i couldnt care, its just a title, if you would rather have the title be my guest.
The reason we dont have many people is because everyone is taking the same stance as you, the whole "there isnt many people yet so i'll wait and see who else goes", Im mearly trying to give people the shove needed to get them to transfer! I am going to say right now that i want to get the people i got on with in Aeon to get here, the likes of yourself, Horn, Fab, Fird, Shama, Shawna, Louise, Seno ect ect...the list goes on. If we can get this sort of group back together again who cares who has the "GM" title, we all get on and all know each other well enough to be able to play a game together with the respect and understanding of each others personal commitments.
What im trying to get across is, why go to a guild that expects you to be in attendance 4 nights a week so you can pass a trial when you can be part of this? We already know you, as you do us, so there is no need to prove yourself! And as for guild rules, do we really need to lay down laws between friends? Being amicable is more than enough for me.

Also, if you want to gear a toon for use in Cata, this is prob the ideal opportunity, get a weekly 10 man going, ninja all loots and simples, one shadow priest geared to the hilts ready for the cata level grind!

I want to tank with my warrior in Cata.. as much if not more than I want to play my druid.
Hes as geared as I can get him without regular ICC runs, which at this point I don't care to do religiously every week.

I am currently finishing my first full week in a new job and I want to impress as much as possible, which means gaming time is at an all time low. Added to that I'm pulling muscles in my back and shoulders that don't help me do said job.

Aside from all that, I play games online to play with those I call friends, If I can't play with them, then I don't play at all. I get just as much enjoyment out of reading books or even playing singleplayer games.

Pre-Cata Release, when the 3.9 patch is released to all clients to prepare us for the expansion I will start playing again, getting used to my chosen classes all over again, getting to know new mechanics and talents, enjoying the feeling of the 'new' world available to me. That is when I expect our guild will start picking up, with people finished with their ICC raiding guilds and ready to play with others they call friends.
Before 3.9 I expect little, If you want to transfer and play some, let us know and I'm sure a few of us will be able to pop online and we can get some things going, but don't expect too much.

If at this point you don't want to transfer or can't or whatever for any number of reasons, then don't. Its entirely a personal choice. If you do want to transfer over when the time comes pre cata, we would welcome you, though you would probably see a few people playing SC2 once your added to RealID lists.

But just to double check that everyone knows:

2 months before Wrath hit the shelves a couple of years back, I had just come back from a 3 month break from WoW. It's what I do to keep the game fresh. I started leveling my Tauren Druid, and managed to hit 70 just before 2.9 hit us, I enjoyed playing so my alliance characters I had kept around just got put on hold. With a few hectic days of leveling (I was jobless) I went on to join a nice raiding guild, being the only non guild raider on their first raiding night. I was invited because I was and I quote "better than the paladins in the guild at healing".
During Naxxramas, EoE, OS, and even Ulduar, I enjoyed my time with that guild, because more often than not, the friends I had made and the people I had come to trust, made even the bad spots bearable.
When I picked up a Night-shift job everything had to stop, because I could not keep pace with the guild and earn myself some money at the same time. 9 months of little activity in WoW, I find myself unemployed, bored with my xbox and ps3 (bought with the money from the job) I start playing again, join a little guild with a couple of friends and remember the fun I had when I started raiding.

Thats what I hope for in a guild, and I'm sure some of you feel the same.

Now for those of you who actually read it, what I hope we can achieve in the new GIAG guild is simply that thought of inclusion among friends that first got me truly hooked to WoW and Aeon.

Well, First of all I have to say Warren I prefer to not be in a guild with a Gooner as a GM :-) just kidding ofc but then am I? Hmm

Here is MY dilemma, I have been bouncing about for a while now and not really made my mind up what i want to do and have found myself in a position with so much on that i don’t know which way to turn. I now have the GM of Aeon and the GM of Crooks (Created with Yonna even tho he is raiding with Yonna in Shadowstorm?) with people calling from all directions and with none of it not really turning out the way it was planned. I also have an open application with “The Logical Cube” which apparently is being looked at and I will receive an answer by tomorrow.

What i want is to have my Paladin as Protection/Holy and Priest as DPS. Tank, Healer DPS, Simples! Although I am very tempted to go with my shaman now really enjoying that as enhancement. Either way my main in Cata will be the paladin. Then a random DPS class.

I would add from your list up their it would be nice to have those people back but as far as i am told Fab and horn won’t move nor Shawna or Leh which means Louise wont either. Fird? Does he even play anymoar?

Gief a guild that will survive and some responsibility – that is what I want and some purpose. Guild that survives as a priority of course.

I can give you an answer from Horn. He said he is going to move most likely but not until he has his Shadowmourne, I can see that being fair considering he is pretty close to it now.

louise and Shawna are already on Doomhammer i believe, just in the raiding guild they have been in for some time. Horn is a 95% cert, Fab will likely follow, he said he liked the idea of it. Fird is coming, he posted that a while back. Seno is ofc a cert, me and manure are here already and shama any day, so we are over halfway there, just need to wait it out while people finish what they are doing. There are others that may likely follow as well, Holsy quite liked the idea of it when i was in TLC with him (on the TLC subject the Uber twat himself is in there....yes i am talking about Boyo!)

As for responsibility, what do you mean? want GM-ship or officer status? I dont think anything like that should be a problem atm. Also, the guild will survive as long as everyone is willing to keep it going! But people going because of personal commitments/prison time/bored of the game ect. can be replaced, we will have to open recruitment to get a few people in for backups/secondary runs ect anyway. Its all just a matter of time, and we have plenty of that atm. Just get us lot in as a base standard, we can all decide who takes the GM, and the rest will prob all be officers (unless you dont actually want it ofc) and go do some fun stuff. When Cata is released thats when the real fun starts, burning to 85, farming HC's, optimizing gear and specs ect ect....it'll be a good while before the first 3 raids are released so we (again) have a fair bit of time to worry about recruiting. Most of which i would assume would be done through the level grind/heroic farm. Picking up people we like the look of. After all, its exactly how i was recruited into Aeon in the first place!

I see, im just waiting for some b-day cash to get a transfer going and working on the guild site.

For any one interested you should understand the guild is going for a relaxed social environment where we raid hard 2-3 nights a week. The idea is to have time for other activities such as PvP, other games and life.

Spoke to horn last night, he said fab was in TLC but was undecided on wether or not he was going to join us, he may well do yet. He also didnt commit himself on wether or not he was joining us, was more curious about who we had confirmed. I think this is going to be the general theme, once a few people commit then the rest will follow. Just my opinion.

But i can say that this guild will go ahead regardless of wether everyone comes along for the ride, obviously it would be nice to get the old crew back together but it may be a bit too optimistic. Time will tell!

In the meantime, if anyone has transferred post here and either myself or Manure will make the effort to be online to get you in the guild!

On a side note, we need a tabard......guessing pink and grey!?

Im starting to think that Doomhammer isnt actally that great, in fact its kinda dead, as in shit dead. Nothing seems to happen, there are nasty unexplained lag spikes, and the locals seem like they are from canvey island.

Cant help thinking Darkspear was the better option.

Can i please get some form of opinion from people please.......if you just want to leave it to me to make the decision then say so, feedback atm is fucking terrible.

Put it this way, the last thing i want to see happen is we all pay money to congregate on a particular realm and it turns out to be more shit than Manure in a great bit pile of........well.......poo........and lets face it, thats a lot of shit!!!!

I am now seriously thinking that Doomhammer is very much on par with Eonar in terms of recruitment possibilities, i think we need something ever so slightly more prolific.

I dont care about the money factor, I just want what is right. I just dont think that what we have right now is right. I will quite happily be the guinea pig and check out any suggested realms by moving lvl80 chars to said suggested realms. BUT, we are getting to the point now where (for some people) time is an issue. Sooner rather than later is always preferable!

I know what you mean twisted, sorry if ive not been useful but i dont really know much about realms. Personally I'm happy anywhere as long as we can raid. A few things though are you sure the 'deadness' isn't just because of end of expansion/summer 'meh' attitude? Ultimately as you say your the only one really playing on that server so only you can really say what its like...

Fird has a point there, Its pretty hard to make a judgement about how a realm is in the summer. I thought you checked out the forums of those realms? And aren't there any top guilds on that server we could ask about the realm etc? I also will ask around in a dutch forum about the realms!

The problem with that way of thinking is that there is no way to back it up. If a server is 'dead' now, then how do you know it will not be 'dead' later? You don't.

At this stage, I'm really not that bothered about where we go, I get my first paycheck at the end of next week that will allow me to move most of my 80s to the designated realm.

However as has been said much before, most of us have limited funds available, so do some research, find a realm worth playing on and stick with your choice. As long as its playable, its workable.


And Craon, what did we in Aeon say to random people asking about Eonar? We told them it was crap.. it doesn't matter whether they are top guild or not, the vast majority of realm population would agree and state that their realm - really crap or not - is really crap.

I asked around on that Dutch forum and found a guy who plays on Doomhammer. He wasn't very positive about the realm. He thinks there are some good guilds but a lot more idiots in pugs and trade. But in my opinion everyone thinks there is always a better realm out there :P

But I agree with Shama, I aint moving till we are absolutely sure where we are going. Money issues hehe.

I would think you would have done extensive research BEFORE moving to the realm? Make a thread on the forums, hell ask Shawna or Jodiee since they are on that realm already?
I do recall many possible movers used to make threads on Eonar forums that were generally repelled by people saying 'dont move here! Eonar horde is dead!' maybe those realms would have similar people giving you such 'pointers'?

All the reliable research that could've been done before a move was done. I didnt start or post on the forums as I am very sceptical of how many people with real valid opinions actually post there. When I read through the realm threads (Manure read through a lot more than I did and im sure he will agree) the majority of posts we just crap fear mongering or spam, there was a distinct lack of people putting any decent information. A lot of "dont come here, such and such player is a ninja!" and as Manure pointed out, a lot of people will just tell you shit, to your face or in a forum.

Anyway, the guild is here atm, we can stay and see how it is in a month or so's time ( I would imagine that it will pick up with the release of Cata but how "low" will it get after that and between content patches.....) or I could switch a char or two to Darkspear and get a more in depth feel there. Like I said, I dont really mind being the ginuea pig!

I still maintain that playing on the realm, pugging with the locals, is the most reliable way to determine the strenght of the realm!

edit* I'll stick with Doomhammer for a little while longer and reserve any major judgements. I must admit, I have played with some good people there, just always seem to be able to remeber the shit times easier than the better

Forums.. I checked every single realm forum of English EU, some had like 1 sticky, 40 odd "that guy stole my item" posts and a few random recruiting posts. Others had less than that, a few were even flaming other realms and their forums.
But the ones that stick out are the ones with a community that is both active and helpful with the mass trolling. Unlikely though it seems Eonar is one of the few that tops my list of better forums, even if most of the posts seem to be recruitment messages. Darkspear, Bronzebeard and Daggerspine were also on my list.

I also learned on my foray that of all EU servers, Hakkar has the worst reputation and it is well earned. On 4 other realms of that battlegroup they were all complaining about players from Hakkar.

The most important thing is latency, on Mazrigos if you wenr into a dungeon a little late then it lagged like fuck. Saltie actually spends his days camping the raid dungeon for his guild to ensure there is no lag, now I dnt know about you but im not wasting time camping an instance so as long as Doomhammer has no lag in raids then we are ok.

From the few raids ive pugged on doomhammer I have had no latency issuses at all, so that is a plus. I was experiencing lag spikes of about 5-10 seconds every hour or so a week back but that seems to have cleared up now, something on Blizzard's side im assuming!

As for recruiting I dont think we will need a great deal of randoms in, we have a fairly stable base to start from but will need a few. We will be able to take a better look at that situation closer to Cata release!

Seems that way, still waiting for people to show up. First week in November is the predicted release date for Cata so we should really be looking to have the majority of people transfered by mid-late October.

I know some people have said that they wont transfer till Cata is released, but I think it'd be better if we had a small group before then, to do things like the 3.9 content, pug the odd raid (hell, I still havent seen the ruby sanctum) and help set the guild up!

I'll be around more and more, I'm still trying to decide which character I will take as my main, though I would like to get on the ptr's to try out the new talents in an active environment.

Incidentally, while I will be around more, there are several games coming out soon that will take me away for a while. With the release date of Cata guessed at 2nd November, it gives me less than a week to play Fallout: New Vegas. I'll also have Fable 3 sitting in a corner somewhere.

I'll also be taking my last 4 days of holiday for the days following release so as to maximise leveling time. Attempting to beat 70-80 in 5 days of 12 hour gaming shifts might be abit hard.

To be honest, its a point I have tried to maintain throughout this whole "setting up" period, I dont think there will be any major activity till the game gets interesting again. When it gets interesting again is purely a matter of opinion, pre Cata release patch for some, Cata release proper for others. I feel there is a general need for patience at the current moment in time. Things will happen and it wont be long before they do, some people want to join now but are restricted financially, others simply arent playing the game due to lack of things to do.

Needless to say, the sooner people get here the quicker things will happen in the guild, but, we just have to let time take its course. Hell Manure and I were the only two people in the guild for nearly 70 days before Craon joined!

All armor is changed nabcake, your int will converted Stamina and Crit if i remember correctly. You better worry about your ArP, as all ArP gems are gonna be crit! So you'll be close to crit capped! And yes your still the master of QQ :P

Been on WoW a few times now, and my ping has been bouncing anywhere between 250ms and 2000ms, which as you can guess generally disrupts gameplay.
Found out why my general connection is rather on the crap side though; turns out my motherboard only supports USB v1 slots, and I don't have enough pci-e slots to upgrade it. My Wireless Adapter on the other hand wants USB 3 for maximum useability and isn't getting it.

As I worked this out, I also worked out it will take me either one months pay (without paying rent, buying new games or paying for food/drink at work) or two months with all those other things. Hopefully I should have a brand spanking new computer (that has more than one pci-e slot) by the time Cata comes through the door.. but then again.. it would probably be late and I would end up playing Cata on this thing for a week.....


On a side-note, when logging into a character and checking out new talents and such, be aware of your surroundings.. 5 minutes after logging into Tinyturd I died.. from drowning.. while he was naked..
