Mafia II demo aims to make you an offer you can’t refuse

2K Czech studios, who are producing the sequel to the 2002 hit game, will be delivering a Mafia II demo on August 10th. UK trade magazine MCV has featured an advert which nails down the date. The demo will be available across all platforms that the game is being developed for. There have however, been no details on what the content of the demo will be as of yet.

The full game will see the light of day shortly after, on the 27th August. In the same vein as the previous game, Mafia II is a sandbox-style crime game a la Grand Theft Auto, but races us back to the romantic time of the speakeasy and Al Capone, in the fictional city of Empire Bay (a conglomeration of elements from three standout traditional gangster-movie cities: New York, Chicago and San Francisco).

Promising a strong story and impressive ambient effects and day/night cycles, the game looks like it could be a real challenger to Rockstars’ crown.

The demo of Mafia II will be released on August 10th for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The full game will follow on August 27th.

The warning "you'll shoot your eye out" came too late for Johnny.
