Xbox 360 Dashboard Update Now Available

by on November 1, 2010

The latest update to the Xbox 360 dashboard is now available to the masses and not just “special” people who were chosen or volunteered! If you’re connected to Xbox LIVE, as soon as you turn on your Xbox 360 you should be prompted to update the dashboard. This latest update comes just a few days before the launch of Kinect and (as expected) is designed with Microsoft’s motion controller in mind.

Xbox LIVE’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb has detailed some of the new features that you can expect to find in this latest update, but keep in mind some of them are region specific. For instance, ESPN will only be available to users in North America. Sad news for sports fans outside North America, especially seeing as ESPN actually do have TV channels in most other regions.

Looking past the region specific features, users still have much to look forward to. You have the new interface, improved voice-chat, in-dashboard keyboard and more realistic looking avatars. Although, having had access to the new dashboard for a while now, we must say that the avatars just look slightly slimmer and taller. What do you think? Let us know via our forums.
