Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s: Over The Nexus Game Announced

New duels, new challenges! Konami are returning to the world of Yu-Gi-Oh! with the announcement of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s World Championship 2011: Over The Nexus – the official game of the 2011 Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s World Championship. Being released on the Nintendo DS, the game is looking to bring the ultimate duelling simulation to handheld fans. The new game is also based on the popular Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s TV series.

For the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship in 2011, duellists from around the world will be invited to prove their mettle through a series of events, with the best players eventually being selected to compete in KONAMI’s World Finals. Because of this strong competitive nature, multi-player modes are going to play a big part in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s World Championship 2011: Over The Nexus, through the option for up to four players to battle offline, or by using Wi-Fi gaming.

The game will also features over 4200 cards, including the new ‘Storm of Ragnarok’ booster and the ‘Lost Sanctuary’ structure deck. The single-player mode follows the plot of the TV show closely, but the implementation of a new Duel Puzzle Editor will allow for new sharing experieneces not seen before in a Yu-Gi-Oh! title. This game looks to become the ultimate simulation of the card-trading game that has endured the world over, even including three physical exclusive cards in the box on release.

Fans of the series won’t have long to wait as Konami will unleash the latest in its Yu-Gi-Oh! range of titles for Nintendo DS in March.
