LEGO Ninjago: The Video Game Announced For Nintendo DS

by on February 10, 2011

Many years ago, when beer was two pounds a pint and Lady Gaga just a vivid nightmare, LEGO was simple little toy bricks that kids played with and toddlers choked on. They were innocent times.

Nowadays, LEGO comes with exciting names like Universe, Pharaoh’s Quest and Atlantis. Newest of all is LEGO Ninjago and today Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games are announcing LEGO Ninjago: The Videogame to coincide with the release of the new range. Here at God is a Geek, we haver managed to lay our hands on some screenshots of the game.

LEGO Ninjago: The Videogame will be released on the Nintendo DS in the spring of 2011 and will allow players to become masters of Spinjitzu which, in LEGO world, is “an art form in which characters spin and become tornadoes to defeat their enemies, as they restore harmony to the world”. Mm hmm.

Rampant cynicism aside, the game is designed as a family friendly adventure where players can choose between a “good” and “evil” campaign, play a variety of battle challenges and even connect with family and friends for a bit of whirling multiplayer. Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games Publishing, says that Lego Ninjago is “great to build upon the success of the first LEGO Battles game and expand the LEGO Ninjago world with new and classic LEGO characters”. Some characters from LEGO Battles may even make some cameo appearances as players battle through the single player campaign.

Here are those screenshots we promised you. Enjoy.
