New UK Release Date For Motorstorm Apocalypse Confirmed

by on March 22, 2011

After the devastating effects of the recent Earthquake in Japan, Sony took the sensitive move to delay the release of their blockbuster racing title Motorstorm Apocalypse. The game involves players driving their cars through tracks that are set in a post-earthquake American city, where the buildings have been ravaged and the area left desolate. Sony felt the images portrayed in the game were too similar to those coming out of Japan in the wake of their natural disaster and decided to indefinately postpone the release of the game to retail.

The originally intended launch date for the UK was March 18th. At the time a spokesperson for Sony Computer Entertainment UK had said that, “Although we have shipped the game into the channel last week, given that we are able to do so, we have chosen to postpone the launch in the UK.” However they can confirm that the game will actually hit stores on March 31st – so not much longer to wait for those wanting to get a taste of 3D Motorstorm goodness.

Motorstorm Apocalypse will be released in the UK on March 31st, exclusively on PlayStation 3.
