Star Wars: The Old Republic Launch Date in Europe Has Been Brought Forward
Like an ominous Star Destroyer closing in on a fleeing Corvette (that’s the one being chased at the beginning of Star Wars IV: A New Hope) the release of Star Wars: The Old Republic draws ever closer.
The beauty of such news is that now, European fans eagerly awaiting this arrival will get to begin their saga on the 20th of December. This is the same release date as that of our friends across the intergalactic pond in North America.
This news comes straight from Stephen Reid, the Community Manager at BioWare, during a Star Wars Panel at the New York Comic Con.
Looking at the trailer below, we are in for an absolute treat!
Even last year when we had a hands on experience at the 2010 Gamescom, Star Wars: The Old Republic was looking set to be an amazing game. From this trailer we can see that it is on target to please both fans of the Star Wars brand, as well as fans of the MMORPG genre. Diplomatic unrest, rebellion, corruption, planet after planet ravaged by war, this sounds like an utterly perfect era in the Star Wars Universe to be a part of.
Look carefully at around 1:33 into the trailer. I don’t know about you, but I think cooking a Lightsaber weilding Sith with a rather large Laser Gun, will be an amazing feeling. Who needs the force eh? Well anyone that loves the idea of introducing a Lightsaber to the midriff of their unlucky foe.

If the World of Warcraft has set any guidance on the matter, the Empire is going to be converting many more to its cause. Any one else’s throat feeling a little tight?

I have been gaming since Christmas day 1989ish, when my siblings and I were given a NES. It had Super Mario Bros and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with it. Although I never completed TMNT, I did get past the underwater level by the dam!
I will happily give any genre a try, unless its something scary. I believe Luigi's Mansion was the closet thing to a horror game that I could stomach. I own a PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and a Nintendo DSi (Serious thought is going into the potential purchase of a 3DS).
When I am not gaming I am usually shouting at Arsenal to take a shot! I can also be found playing football, squash, ultimate frisbee, cooking, or passing the time by making noise. I can do a pretty convincing Jam Jar Lid! ^^
