More Final Fantasy XIII-2 Screens To Enjoy

Final Fantasy XIII-2Square Enix have sent over some new screenshots for Final Fantasy XIII-2, the sequel to Final Fantasy XIII.

The screens show off some features and locations that are going to appear in the game, which is due for release in Europe on 3rd February 2012.

First up we have Augusta Tower, an information processing facility that has turned a little worse for wear, with the inside of the Tower having been turned into a maze. The next set of screenshots provide some details on how players will be able to level up the game’s characters, as well as monsters that have been captured and added to the player’s party, using the Crystarium system. Following those is the Historia Crux, a place where numerous Time Gates reside, and where each Time Gate will open to a different location on the time line. As long as players possess the correct aretfacts they will be able to open the gates and explore what lies within them. I’m hoping for a sequence that pays homage to Back To The Future in which you have to perform a musical number to ensure two Moogles find love. Or maybe not.

The final few screens show some of the monsters you’ll be able to add to your party, as well as some shots from some of the game’s cutscenes. I’m particularly liking the fellow with the bright red bow tie; he looks as though he’s going to be able to dish out some damage in style because, as we all know, bow ties are cool.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 is due for release on PS3 and Xbox 360 on 3rd February 2012.
