Go Where No Man has Gone Before with New Star Trek Trailer

Go Where No Man has Gone Before with New Star Trek TrailerNamco Bandai Games have just released a new trailer for the upcoming Science Fiction action game from Digital Extremes – the movie tie-in game for Star Trek.

Now this isn’t your traditional movie tie-in game. Sure, it will be released shortly before the next installment in the film series, but this title will have taken three years to build, and is a prequel to the new movie – being set between this one and the successful re-boot from 2009.

The game will allow players to take on the roles of Kirk and Spock – with very accurate-looking Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto face scans. Built from the ground up as a co-operative experience, the game will stay true to the Star Trek mantra of being able to “explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations”, by not focusing solely on action-based gameplay. Although all footage so far revealed seems to be action-orinetated, exploration and adventure has been promised, and the game is shaping up to be more than just a Mass Effect look-alike. We certainly look forward to learning more at E3 this June.

Check out the new footage below:

Star Trek will be available in the early 2013 on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
