GodisaGeek’s E3 2012 Predictions – Sony

Sony’s press briefing was probably the better of the Big Three briefings, with plenty of games on show, although there was a distinct lack of Vita support during the actual conference.

GodisaGeek’s E3 2012 Predictions - Likely

Calvin: A definite emphasise on PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3.

ALMOST! Definitely a lot of PlayStation 3 goodies on show, but where the hell was the Vita during Sony’s briefing?

Adam: PlayStation Vita titles galore, more Uncharted on PlayStation Vita and release info for LittleBigPlanet Vita. More info on The Last of Us.

ALMOST! Well we saw The Last of Us, but barely anything else, than a little information about cross platform play with LittleBigPlanet Vita.

Martin: A look at The Last of Us via some gameplay or a trailer, plus a look at God of War: Ascension.

RIGHT! Martin nails it – A big look at both games, dominated the briefing.

Robin: Lots of focus on the PlayStation Vita, with a look at tonnes of Vita games.

WRONG! Nope, no Vita here. Try somewhere else.

Joe: A look at some new PlayStation Vita titles and some new features.

WRONG! See no Vita. Hear no Vita. Speak no Vita.

Colm: Sony will reveal the full list of characters for PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale.

ALMOST! A couple of new characters have been announced, but not the full list.

Lee: A gameplay demo of The Last of Us, plus some new PlayStation Vita titles. I think Quantic Dream are due a return to E3 as well – An expansion of the Kara tech demo we saw at GDC? Speaking of returns, I think fictional spokeperson, Kevin Butler needs to come back.

ALMOST! Quantic Dream returned with the gorgeous Beyond: Two Souls, joining The Last of Us as exciting PS3 exclusives. No Vita, and no Kevin Butler. Disappointing.

GodisaGeek’s E3 2012 Predictions - Maybe

Calvin: A brief statement regarding the PlayStation 4, plus a possible SEN/PSN overhaul.

WRONG! Zilch.

Adam: A PlayStation 4 announcement, and potentially an inFAMOUS 3 reveal. More Move games too maybe?

WRONG! No PS4 here, or inFAMOUS. Move was almost non-existant.

Martin: An announcement of the PlayStation 4

WRONG! No!

Robin: An announcement regarding the PlayStation 4.

WRONG! Nein!

Joe: An announcement regarding the PlayStation 4.

WRONG! Lie!

Colm: An announcement regarding the PlayStation 4.

WRONG! Nada!

Lee: An announcement….Actually no, I think there is a possibility of some new PlayStation 3/PlayStation Vita software updates, introducing some new features.

WRONG! A surprising lack of firmware-related news.

GodisaGeek’s E3 2012 Predictions - Unlikely

Calvin: A list of specifications for the PlayStation 4, plus rough release date announcements.

WRONG! Hell no!

Adam: A Kinect-style motion controller for the PlayStation 4.

WRONG! Not even close!

Martin: A Kinect-style motion controller for the PlayStation 4.

WRONG! No luck, this time!

Robin: Sony to reveal a bunch of high-quality PlayStation Move titles.

WRONG! Nothing much to speak of in regards to Move titles, other than Wonderbook.

Joe: An updated/replacement PlayStation Move, plus added Party Chat features for the PlayStation 3/Vita.

WRONG! Nothing of the sort was mentioned, sadly.

Colm: The Last of Us will have another trailer and will still be coming out this year. Listed as unlikely because I think this baby won’t see the list of day until 2013.

ALMOST! We did see a trailer, but no concrete release date was mentioned (although reports mention a 2013 release as likely).

Lee: Sony will dazzle us with some new PlayStation Move titles!

WRONG! It’s almost as if Sony have forgotten about the Move, other than for Wonderbook.
