Hotline Miami DLC is Set to Become a Sequel

Hotline Miami DLC is Set to Become a SequelOne of this year’s indie darlings is without question, Hotline Miami. The game has only been out with a month, but has garnered tons of fans for its sublime soundtrack, mental story and violent gameplay. The “top down fuck’em up” – as it was described by the game’s developer, Dennaton Games – was due to be getting some DLC, but plans have changed and that scheduled add-on is set to become a full fledged sequel.

One half of the development team for the original Jonatan Söderström broke the news on Twitter, which we learned via Eurogamer. Söderström tweeted, “Working while listening to the sweet tunes of a preliminary Hotline Miami 2 soundtrack that we’ve put together during the weekend.”

When rumours were circulating that the other half of the “we” was developer of Lone Survivor and composer of Hotline Miami’s OST, Jasper Byrne, Söderström put the record straight by stating he was purely talking about Dennaton Games. He also went on to say;

“Music wise I’m not sure for the second game yet. Last time we had nine different musicians doing the soundtrack. Looks like a couple of them might do more tracks for the sequel, but we’ve been looking at some other bands as well. Want to keep it fresh.”

I believe that I’m the only living and breathing soul left on this Earth that hasn’t played Hotline Miami, yet. However, to rectify that, I picked it up in the most recent Steam sale. So, if you’ll excuse me…

Hotline Miami is available now for Windows PC (via Steam)
