Warner Bros. and LEGO Announce Three New Games Based on the Legends of Chima Universe

by on January 3, 2013

As the unstoppable LEGO machine marches ever onwards, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have announced a trio of new games based on the upcoming Legends of Chima TV series. Set in a land ruled by highly-evolved animals, the show will follow the adventures of various lead characters and their respective tribes, all of which are advanced forms of common animals such as lions, wolves, gorillas and eagles.

The first of the three games is LEGO Legends of Chima: Speedorz, a mini racing game that will see players race against famous Chima characters through iconic locations. How these characters and locations can be called “famous” or “iconic” when the show is only just due to air for the first time is anyone’s guess, but LEGO and Warner Bros. are sparing no expense in the hyperbole department. The game is developed by LEGO stalwarts TT Games and is available on LEGO.com and iOS now.

Legends of Chima: Laval’s Journey is an adventure game in development by TT Games for the Nintendo DS, 3Ds and Vita., and will follow Laval of the Lion Tribe on his adventures in Chima. The 3Ds and Vita versions will be available in the Summer, with the DS version available a little later in Autumn.

The third title, developed by WB Games Montreal, is to be a free-to-play online game aiming to provide a safe and immersive experience for younger gamers when it launches in Autumn. In it, you’ll be able to create , customise and nurture your own kingdom within the land of Chima, embark on missions to help Laval and his companions, and explore a massive open-world environment. Interestingly, all three games will be tied together by the Chima Vault, accessible via LEGO.com, which will let players earn points in Laval’s Journey and Speedorz which can be spent on unlocking unique items in LEGO Legends of Chima Online.

We’ll bring you more information, screens and trailers as they become available.
