505 Games Help Bring Serellan’s Kickstarter Project, Takedown: Red Sabre, to Multiple PlatformsSniper Elite: V2 publishers 505 Games have picked up Serellan’s successful Kickstarter project, Takedown: Red Sabre.

Tactical shooter Takedown: Red Sabre began life as a Kickstarter campaign, sans the snazzy subtitle, developed by Serellan, a company headed up by Christian Allen. Allen’s pedigree in the industry is without question, having been Creative Director on the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon franchise and Lead Designer on Halo: Reach, and his development team have a list of credits including F.E.A.R, SOCOM and SWAT.

Developed as a spiritual successor to SWAT and Rainbow Six, Takedown: Red Sabre is a game for the tactical player, eschewing the favoured run-and-gun, spray-and-pray mechanics of the modern shooter for something smarter and more considered. Non-linear environments and a variety of challenging missions allow for multiple paths to objectives and give the player a certain amount of freedom to experiment with tactics during each encounter.

Now 505 Games (the publishers behind recent hit Sniper Elite: V2) have stepped into help Serellan bring Takedown to multiple platforms. Tim Woolley, 505 Games’ Head of Global Brand, says: “Takedown: Red Sabre is a community project, and the team at Serellan has already garnered a significant following. Our role in this partnership is to preserve and encourage the team’s direct dialogue with the community while ensuring we leverage our global presence to grow the audience.”

Allen himself says of the collaboration: “We are extremely pleased to be able to let our Kickstarter community know that their early faith in the Takedown dream will be rewarded with a global campaign from a committed partner who consistently launches successful global campaigns from IL-2 Sturmovik to Sniper Elite V2.”

Takedown: Red Sabre will be released on “multiple platforms” in 2013.
