Tomb Raider Multiplayer DLC Launching First on Xbox

by on March 6, 2013

Square Enix have announced that the Caves and Cliffs Multiplayer Map Pack for Tomb Raider will launch on Xbox on March 19 2013.

The pack will cost 400 Microsoft Points and include three maps. Scavenger Caverns, Cliff Shantytown and The Burning Village. They are described as such:

Scavenger Caverns
An extensive subterranean network of caves used by the island’s scavengers as an underground prison

Cliff Shantytown
This scavenger settlement was built high up on the island cliffs. Its many layers hide some of the deadliest traps on the island

The Burning Village
A raging fire has embraced an abandoned Japanese village, the burning buildings offer multiple ways to escape or engage your enemies

As you would hope the three maps support all four of the multiplayer’s gametypes.

In our Tomb Raider review Adam described Tomb Raider’s multiplayer as “an enjoyable addition, but it’s not going to be hurting Call of Duty’s player-count any time soon”, pointing out that this is especially likely given that there are only five maps to play in the retail game.

But even if the multiplayer isn’t all that and a bag of Kettle Chips the single player certainly is, and it’s worth posting this news just to remind you of that in case you’re not playing the new Raider yet. Well go on then, go get it.

Tomb Raider is available now for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Windows PC.
