MGS V Actor Reveal on June 11, if This Video is Legit

MGS-V-Actor-Reveal-on-June-11-if-This-Video-is-LegitThis could be completely false –  A fan who is having a bit of a laugh at our expense…or, it could be David Hayter…or, it could be – you get the point.

Over the weekend, a video was uploaded to YouTube by user OnigawaraV – which we saw thanks to The Examiner. It shows a masked figure claiming they will be voicing a character in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. When Metal Gear Solid V was announced, series creator Hideo Kojima said that David Hayter’s exclusion from the game was due to a new direction for MGS.

However, this conflicted with reports that the Japanese actor who plays Snake would be reprising his role. So, naturally, fans are expecting a David Hayter reveal because of this video. The man/woman says that they have to keep their identity secret for a bit, but all will be revealed on June 11 – which coincidentally is the first day of E3 2013. With credits in “computer animated movies” and apparently a Hollywood actor, the faceless chap appears to be a big deal. Kiefer Sutherland hasn’t been announced for the game yet, but anybody that saw the Metal Gear presentation at GDC could clearly hear Jack Bauer’s tones. However, this doesn’t seem like Sutherland because Mr. Oni (as he calls himself in the video) says:

“I am the one you thought I would be from the start. Look closer detectives, the hint is right in front of you”.

With that one clue, the guy sporting Joakim Mogren’s look and a Moby Dick Studios’ The Phantom Pain t-shirt really points to a David Hayter announcement. We’ll wait and see.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be released later this year for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3
