The-Team-Behind-Whore-of-the-Orient-Have-Been-Reportedly-Let-Go-Yet-KMM-Remain-PositiveOnce development on LA Noire had finished up, the film, TV and video games production company KMM absorbed the Team Bondi staff and were all set to get cracking on Whore of the Orient.

Other than little dribs and drabs the news on the game was slack, but we were under the impression that production was to begin early this year, with a scheduled release date of 2015. Those that were in any way looking forward to the game will have to put their excitement on the back burner as MCV are reporting that the team behind LA Noire have been let go. Their sources have told them that whilst there have been lay offs, the studio has not shut down.

KMM’s Doug Mitchell issued a statement to MCV, neither confirming nor denying rumours:

“Whore of the Orient is a unique and extraordinary story and game, and we are still actively pursuing the right investor to partner with.”

Whatever the situation is over at KMM, it’s good to hear that Whore of the Orient is still a project that they want to keep alive. LA Noire, for all its problems, had some decent ideas and it would be a shame to see Whore of the Orient go the way of the dodo.
