Tekken Card Tournament Launches with New Trailer

by on April 5, 2013

Tekken Card Tournament Launches with New TrailerTekken is one of the most beloved series in gaming history, let alone being one of the top beat-em-up games – so it is a little surprising that no spin-off games aside from the main series have ever been released before. That has all changed, as Tekken Card Tournament is out now for Windows PC and many portable devices.

The game will be free-to-play across a variety of different operating systems – including iOS, Android and Windows – and will allow for cross-platform play between users. Available now from iTunes, the Google Play store and Amazon for compatible Kindle devices, the game is going to be easily accessible to most gamers – also being instantly playable in browsers.

The basic game will feature full 3D graphics, and allow gamers to go head-to-head anyway in the world – all for free – but there will also be a series of 191 physical collector cards to purchase, with each card featuring a unique QR code so they can be instantly scanned directly into the game. These will bring new fighters and abilities to the game, as well as unleashing some impressive augmented reality effects. Collectable card and figure games such as Magic: The Gathering and Skylanders remain very popular amongst games, it will be interesting to see whether there is room in the market for another one – especially seeing as a beat-em-up quite like this has never been attempted before.
