Gran Turismo 6 Announced at Anniversary Event

by on May 15, 2013

Heavily rumoured after Sony announced their Gran Turismo 15th anniversary event, Gran Turismo 6 has been confirmed and will be coming to PlayStation 3 later this year.

The game will feature all of the cars from Gran Turismo 5 plus a whole host of other vehicles which will bring the total up to 1200 at launch. More will be available as DLC after the game’s release.

As well as that, there will 33 tracks on offer with England’s well known Silverstone also being playable for the first time in GT history. Of course, more tracks will feature as downloadable content, too.

The well touted “second screen experience” will show up in Gran Turismo 6 as social elements will be an aspect that those with smartphones and tablets can enjoy.

After being listed by an online retailer and Sony Europe VP Michael Denny’s comments earlier this year, it’s clear that Sony aren’t forgetting about their current generation system. With DriveClub appearing to be the marquee sim racing title for PS4, it’s no surprise that SCE want to keep these two on separate platforms.

Are you up for some more simulation racing from Sony? Gran Turismo stands as one of the biggest games in Sony’s library and there’s no doubt that Polyphony’s new entry in the series will sell bucket loads.
