Loud Stuff Blows Up in the New Fuse Trailer

by on May 9, 2013

To celebrate the release of the playable demo, EA and Insomniac Games have unleashed a new gameplay trailer for upcoming squad-based sci-fi shooter Fuse and, predictably, it features lots of bullets and explosions. Being long-term fans of explosions here at GodisaGeek, we can’t honestly say that the new trailer puts us off, but it certainly is indicative of what we can all expect Fuse to deliver come its end of June release date.

It tells the loud, explodey story of Overstrike 9, a mercenary group comprised of grizzled tank Dalton Brooks, deadly science nerd Izzy Sinclair, resourceful former assassin Naya Deveraux and detective Jacob Kimble, tangled up in a conflict with rogue paramilitary group the Raven Corporation over a semi-sentient alien energy source known as Fuse.

There are elements of Borderlands thanks to the skill trees and prevalent squad dynamic, and Fuse has echoes of overlooked last-gen title Brute Force in its set-up. Coupled with Insomniac Games’ sense of humour and ingenuity, this should make for an enjoyably off-kilter shooter that will fill the gap left by the news that we aren’t getting a Bulletstorm sequel any time soon.

Check out the trailer below and download the demo if you fancy a piece of the action.
