Official PC Digital Sales Chart Launches

This week sees the launch of the very first PC gaming digital sales charts, anywhere in the world. UKIE and Ipsos Media have put together the new UK charts using actual sales data, gathered from publishers and retailers alike.

The chart has been in beta testing for a year already, to iron out any issues, and now the first chart has gone public – letting us finally see what impact digital sales are having on the industry. Although figures were not collected directly from Steam, the individual publishers collated Steam data and have fed that back to UKIE, so that the chart can be even more accurate.

It is a real boon that Steam sales have been included in one way or another, as Steam has had a massive impact on the way that PC gamers buy and play their games over the last few years.
