Nothing Sacrificed on Either Version of Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate

Whilst everyone is focused on throwing hate at Batman: Arkham Origins, Blackgate seems to slipping under the radar. The 2.5D Metroidvania style take on the Arkham series will be released on both Vita and 3DS on October 25.

Developer Armature Studio has confirmed via Twitter, that they are using Bluepoint Games tech on both versions. Technical director Jack Mathews added that neither game is the “lead” platform, per se:

“Most everyone has both dev kits on their desk. Platforms too different to concentrate on one lead.”

The main differences between the two are that the Vita will have higher res assets and the 3DS has…eh, 3D. So, those that don’t have both platforms needn’t worry that something will have been sacrificed on their copy of the game.

Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate is so intriguing. On the surface, some elements don’t appear like they would work in that 2.5D environment, but I’m certainly hoping that Armature excel with The Bat.
