Harness Dream Power in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros.

Nintendo has released more details on the gameplay features of the upcoming 3DS title Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros. During the game, you  will alternate between the real world of Pi’illo Island and Luigi’s Dream World. The Pi’illo Island sections follow a very similar pattern to the three previous Mario & Luigi. You fight, use combo moves, level-up, earn badges in a timing and turn-based battle system.

The unique elements in Dream Team Bros. come in the Dream World. The game requires you to interact with Luigi’s imagination to solve puzzles and battle. The various attack are called Luiginary Works. Among the mechanics are Mario rolling on top of a big ball of dozens of Luigis to crush and just simply touching Luigi’s mustache while he sleeps. This interaction should be very interesting touch up to the standard formula.

In this fourth instalment of the popular RPG series Mario & Luigi, the story opens with Princess Peach and her staff, plus brothers Mario and Luigi in tow, being invited for a sightseeing trip to the mysterious Pi’illo Island by its equally mysterious proprietor, Dr Snoozemore. But after an initially hospitable welcoming to the island – albeit with Dr Snoozemore noticeably absent – things take a turn for the worse when Princess Peach is kidnapped and pulled into a Dream World by a new enemy in the series, the ghostly bat king Antasma.

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros. will be released for Nintendo 3DS on July 12 in the UK and August 11 in North America.
