It Appears That The Xbox One Will Now Come With A Headset [Update: Or Will it?]

by on July 4, 2013

UPDATE: MCV have apparently been given word this rumour is false, and plans haven’t changed – there will be no headset in the box!

When early product fact sheets were revealed for the upcoming Xbox One console, a headset was notably missing from the included inventory. Only a little over a week ago in fact, we were told that the console was not going to come with a headset because the bundled Kinect sensor could fulfill duties of a headset.

However, ElectronicTheatre have reported that the latest content lists that have been sent to UK retailers from the official UK distributor for Microsoft Studios and Xbox products, Gem, now list a headset as being in the £429 launch package.

We are still waiting on confirmation from Microsoft, but this looks fairly official so far. This is just the latest in a recent string of U-turns and policy alterations that the Xbox One team have made since their less-than-stellar E3 showing. What more could happen between now and the time of release? Are Microsoft attempting to add value to their £429 package, to allow it to compete at retail with the PlayStation 4? GodisaGeek will keep you up-to-date with all the latest twists and turns.
