Borderlands 2 On PS Vita Confirmed For May Release

by on April 9, 2014

It has been confirmed – via the official PlayStation European blog – that Borderlands 2 will see its release on PS Vita in May. This will be the first time a Borderlands game has been adapted for a handheld console, and has been a collaboration between platform-holders Sony, Gearbox Software, Iron Galaxy Studios and 2K Games. First announced in Summer last year, this is surely one game that will push the console to its limits.

Not only do gamers get the full original retail game, but the PS Vita version also features an additional six downloadable content packs; Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty, Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage, the Psycho and Mechromancer Character Classes, as well as the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1, and Collector’s Edition pack.

And to add a Cherry on top of the icing, on top of the cake – cross-platform saving will also be enabled in the game. So those of you who have already pumped hours and hours into the title on your PlayStation 3, will be able to pick up and carry on where you left off with your PS Vita, and vice versa. Coming so long after the original release this is a fantastic feature, as many gamers will already have levelled-up Vault hunters and won’t want to start from scratch.

An exact date has yet to be nailed down, but fans don’t have long to wait now. See the new trailer for the PS Vita release below:
