Epic Games Announces Opening Of Epic Games UK Studio

by on August 5, 2014

Back in November, Epic Games announced that the Polish studio People Can Fly would be incorporated into their parent company as Epic Games Poland, and that expansion continues as Pitbull Studio in England has now been re-branded as Epic Games UK – becoming a fully integrated part of the company.

Pitbull Studio previously had split locations in Sunderland, Guildford and Leamington Spa, but the re-structuring will see Epic’s Lead Programmer James Golding heading to the UK to help establish their Guildford office as their new headquarters.

Pitbull have helped Epic develop the Unreal Engine in the past, as well as working on titles such as Gears of War: Judgment and Silent Hill: Downpour. The idea of founding Epic Games UK is to have a studio that will drive the development of the Unreal Engine 4 in Europe. What new titles Pitbull will be working on is currently unknown, but at the moment Epic are developing a new Unreal Tournament and PC survival title Fortnite.
