Bloodborne Screenshots Show Off Online Features

The newest batch of Bloodborne screenshots have shown off the game’s online features as well as one of the a location called Chalice Dungeon: a crypt which changes appearance with every player.

Up to three players are able to join forces online to tackle challenges too difficult for to complete solo, the goal ultimately being to defeat all enemies as well as the level boss. Hosts must use the Beckoning Bell item to begin a game with guests having to activate the Small Resonant Bell to join.

Players can also battle against each other in Versus PvP using a variety of weapons accrued skill. An interesting feature of online play is the ability to leave notes for other players to be delivered via the Messengers creatures, as well as spectres: when a player dies, a tombstone will be left allowing others to interact with it and view their final moments. Player ghosts will appear to give hints as where to go next, if they are in the same area.

The online features will be implemented on launch day as an update to help optimise the service and increase game performance. Online features will only be available to Playstation Plus subscribers.

Bloodborne releases in Europe on March 25 exclusively on Playstation 4. Take a look at the new screenshots below:
