New Danganronpa V3 Coming in 2016, Alongside New Anime
Spike Chunsoft have announced new details about New Danganronpa V3: Everyone’s New Semester of Killing during their Danganronpa Presentation Press Conference today in Tokyo.
New Danganronpa V3 will not be continuing the story of the two games prior, instead abandoning the setting of Hope’s Peak entirely and taking place at the Gifted Inmates Academy. The theme has been described as “psycho cool”, and will feature an almost-mecha looking protagonist which can be seen in the official poster below.
The game will feature similar Class Trial mechanics as the previous two games, as well as the ability to accuse other characters of bluffing in order to dismantle their argument, according to Famitsu (translated via NeoGAF).
Fans of the previous two games will not be left in the lurch however, as a new anime series was announced with the intent to close the book on the Hope’s Peak storyline. The anime, titled Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope’s Peak Academy, will heavily feature characters such as Naegi, Asahina, Kirigiri and Hagakure. The writer of the series, Kazutaka Kodaka justified the creation of the anime by saying that it is the only way the story can be concluded, using tricks that can only be done through anime.
