Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIV had a lot of announcements at the Fan Festival in Europe.

For one, it is now a Guinness World Record holder for most original pieces of music in a video game. Final Fantasy XIV is at 384 pieces of music as of this writing. SOKEN’s music for Final Fantasy XIV and Uematsu’s themes elevate it above almost every Final Fantasy game releases after IX.

Final Fantasy XIV is also set to get a PS4 Pro patch. It will focus more on performance. Stormblood will see PS3 support dropped. Here’s what Yoshida had to say:

“Rather than using the PS4 Pro’s power to adapt to say 4k display, we’re thinking of using it for game performance. We’ve begun work on a Pro patch and hope to have details soon.”

Stormblood, the new expansion that is due in June also got a fantastic new trailer. Watch it below:

He also says they are considering a Nintendo Switch release for Final Fantasy XIV.

Thanks, Nova Crystallis.
