Far Cry 5 is a Western set in 19th Century America, out September: Report

by on May 8, 2017

The next Far Cry game might take place in 19th century America and release this September according to WCCFTech.

There’s been a lot of rumblings online about Far Cry recently. Out of all the rumours, there’s some evidence that when put together, makes the setting mentioned above seem likely. For one Jeff Guillot said that he was shooting a live action trailer where “a man fighting with another man near a hanging bell as a train rolled by on the tracks a half-mile away”. He worked with Ubisoft for the live action trailer for Far Cry Primal. While initially thought to have been one for Red Dead Redemption 2, Jason Schreier of Kotaku confirmed it wasn’t RDR2 on NeoGAF. Then there’s been a survey that was sent out in early 2015 for gauging interest in Far Cry settings by Ubisoft. One of the options was a Spaghetti Western set in the late 19th Century in America. All of this points to a reveal soon if the September release date is happening.

Far Cry 5 (unconfirmed title) will probably launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC as the platforms of choice.
